First, the crane arrives.

 

 

Then, the structural steel.

 

 

Next, the crane lifts the steel into place.

 

 

 

Clyde carefully lowers the steel.

 

 

Then Forrest welds the steel column to the metal plate already bolted to the foundation.

 

 

 

It's a good weld.

 

 

The process is repeated. 

 

 

Soon there is a forest of steel columns.

 

 

Next task -- weld the steel columns together with connecting beams.

 

 

Meanwhile, Clyde turns the crane to lifting the north stairwell wall into place.

 

Derrick and Tanner rig for the lift.

 

Up it goes.

 

 

They guide the wall section down.

 

 

 

Stein directs the final adjustments.

 

 

And Leif nails it into place.
