Steel for Stairs: July 25, 2019

The stairs to the first floor are conventionally supported on the floor of the lower level.

(This also makes for space underneath for storage -- or a pirate ship!)

The stairs to the second floor will "float," and require strong support.

 

 

Forrest welded the piece together.

 

 

Then it took manpower to lift the 500-pound piece into place.

 

 

Both ends.

 

Next step: build the stairs.
